Description

How well do you know your neighbors?  M33 or the Triangulum Galaxy is third largest member of our Local Group of galaxies, behind the Andromeda Galaxy and our own Milky Way galaxy.  Roughly 3 million light years away from us, the beautiful spiral arms have been undisturbed by gravity interactions with nearby neighbor galaxies, but that likely will change as this galaxy is suspected to be gravitational locked with the much larger Andromeda galaxy which is moving on towards a collision course with our own Milky Way galaxy in about 4 billion years.  Will make for quite the show!

Shot this over a couple of nice clear nights (albeit with quite a nearly full moon!).  This is a great time of year to see this galaxy!  Get out an enjoy the night skies!
